Track & Trace Leak Detection attended an emergency call out in Bordon to assist an elderly lady who had been left without a working shower. She had previously been told by a company from outside the area that the repair would cost £1,200, despite no proper inspection having been carried out.
On arrival, our engineer carried out a full assessment, accurately located the fault, and identified the required part. The repair was completed over two visits, including parts, and the shower was restored to full working order.
The total cost for the complete repair came to £380 + VAT, leaving a very relieved and happy client.
Sadly, this situation highlights how some companies use weekend emergency call outs to take advantage of vulnerable people. We strongly encourage families to make sure elderly relatives have a trusted local number to call before agreeing to work or sharing card details. A quick phone call can help ensure basic necessities are restored without the risk of being overcharged or misled.
