Our team attended a property in Frimley to carry out a track and trace leak detection investigation after a hidden leak was suspected within the system.
Using specialist detection methods, we carried out a full investigation and identified the source of the issue. The leak was found on a copper pipe, which had been affected by corrosion caused by contact with surrounding concrete.
We carried out a temporary repair to stop the leak and prevent further water loss. However, due to the condition of the pipework, we advised the client to replace the existing copper pipe with plastic pipework to avoid future corrosion issues.
When pipework sits within or beneath concrete, proper protection is essential. Therefore, we recommended:
- Replacing copper pipes with plastic alternatives where possible
- Ensuring all pipework is properly insulated before being covered
- Avoiding direct contact between pipework and concrete
These steps help reduce the risk of future leaks and extend the lifespan of the system.
